Getting around WAW
Warsaw Chopin Airport runs on a single terminal, Terminal A, created in 2010 when the airport’s two older terminal buildings were jointly renamed — the original wing (zones A and B) and the one built in 2006 (zones C, D and E). A year later the north, central and south piers were joined into one continuous 725-metre boarding hall with eleven new jet bridges, so the zone letters describe where you check in, not a separate building to walk between. LOT Polish Airlines calls Chopin its home base, telling the airport it handles over half of all passenger traffic here and close to 60% of flight operations. An underground railway station sits beneath the terminal, served by the SKM and Koleje Mazowieckie lines (S2, S3 and RL); buses and the SKM reach the CENTRUM stop in about 30 minutes. Unusually, five Executive Lounges — Fantazja, Preludium and Etiuda, plus LOT’s own Polonez and Mazurek — are open to every passenger, not only business class. In 2024 the airport handled a record 21,283,973 passengers.
