Zürich’s map is clearer once the numbers are set aside. The three passenger docks are A, B/D and E, while check-in happens in a single connected landside complex. The Airside Center physically links A and B. Dock B/D carries two border regimes in one building: B gates are Schengen and D gates are non-Schengen. Dock E is the outlier across the airfield, but it is not an isolated terminal journey — the underground Skymetro runs there from the Airside Center in about three minutes. The railway station is below Check-in 3, so rail passengers enter the same central complex before following their gate letter. That arrangement makes the letter, rather than a terminal number, the useful final wayfinding cue.

The shaded buildings are the terminals as they operate today, with names verified by us — the base map’s own labels can lag behind reality. Blue P squares mark the official car parks that publish a name; the dark square is the station.
