Getting around BLQ
Bologna is one of the small club of airports with its own dedicated people mover: the Marconi Express, a driverless monorail that climbs out of the first floor of the terminal and reaches Bologna Centrale — Italy’s high-speed rail hub — in seven minutes flat, running every 7 to 15 minutes from 05:40 to midnight, 365 days a year. There is only one terminal building here, so the usual "which terminal" question never comes up; what matters is the floor — check-in on the ground floor, security and boarding, and the monorail, one flight up. In 2025, a record year, the airport carried 11.1 million passengers, its seventh-biggest year by Italian ranking, across 93 direct destinations on 44 airlines.
