Inside each terminal

Check-in, security, the station link and how to change terminals — verified against the airport's own pages.

Passenger Terminal

One building holds every function of the airport — check-in, security, arrivals and departures — operated by the state company SJSC “Riga International Airport”. There is no Terminal 1/2 split to navigate: every one of the 19 airlines currently listed on the airport’s own destinations filter, from home carrier airBaltic to Ryanair, Lufthansa and flydubai, uses the same building.

Check-in

Arrive at least two hours before departure — the official check-in window opens two hours out (1.5–1 hour in individual cases) and usually closes 30–40 minutes before departure. Boarding typically starts 20–30 minutes ahead and gates close 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Security

RIX Fast Track buys a queue-free run through security, working 04:00–00:00 with a coupon valid 12 months; it is free for RIX Club members and for holders of Latvia’s Family of Honour certificate.

From the train & tram station

Riga has no operating rail station of its own yet: reach the terminal by the airport’s own bus route No. 22, taxi or rental car. The high-speed Rail Baltica line is being built past the airport and will eventually add a station next to the new terminal, but as of today neither the airport nor the project’s own progress page describe that connection as finished — it is under construction, not in service.

Accessibility

The PRM Assistance Team meets passengers from arrival to their seat, under EU Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2006. Notify your airline two full days ahead of the flight for the smoothest handling; a request filed later, at the check-in-hall information point or the call points in car parks P1 and P3, still gets served but risks the up-to-45-minute wait the airport itself flags. Bus No. 22 runs low-floor vehicles, and PRM drivers get 30 minutes of free parking in P1 by showing a Latvian or international parking card for people with disabilities at the Visitor Centre in Arrivals Hall E.
